Experience the Magic of the African Wild in Real Time - Great Plains
Go on a virtual journey to the heart of Kenya for a one-of-a-kind live look at life in the African wild. This is a waterhole view from Great Plains Conservation's Live Kenya Waterhole Webcam (Hidecam) at ol Donyo Lodge under the shadow of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. On a clear day you will get to see Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Did you know that Kilimanjaro is the worlds highest free-standing mountain and is on the equator!
Ajanie and I have the livestream running all day long in the office as we work. We get to see all kinds of animals in real time. At one time we were lucky enough to watch live two majestic male Lions drink water to their hearts content.
ol Donyo Lodge is a Great Plains Conservation Réserve-Collection safari camp and a proud Relais & Châteaux member.
Keep an eye out for lions, fringe-eared oryx, giraffe, the resident warthog, stealthy cats that visit at night, and, if you are lucky, some of Africa’s largest tusked elephants. ol Donyo Lodge is situated in the Chyulu Hills of southern Kenya.
Please remember this is live-streamed from Kenya, so be patient – animals come to drink at this water hole constantly. And also remember the time difference! The best time for those in Australian eastern time is from about 3 pm when it’s dawn in Kenya.
The webcam zooms in when animals are present and remember to turn up your sound. You can also scroll back 12 hours to see what came to the waterhole earlier.
