Pymbroke on the Bremer River | Camping Spot Near Adelaide

Set on a picturesque sheep farm, this campsite offers a serene and tranquil environment that feels far away from the busy city. The lush green rolling hills and the gently flowing Bremer River provide a stunning backdrop for a relaxing weekend getaway. I have to mention, the flow of the river is seasonal.
One of the best things about Pembroke is the sense of remoteness it provides, despite being so close to the city. The absence of crowds and noise makes it an ideal place to disconnect and recharge. You can truly escape the stresses of everyday life and immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings.
The property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer Ranges and is on the Bremer River in Rockleigh. This site was once a overnight yard for sheep farmers who were passing through the area.
There are three campsites to choose from. Campsite 1 (The Gums) being the best out of the three, offering lots of shade from the tall Gum Trees. All are quite close to the river.
Pembroke offers basic of amenities for campers. The campsites are well-maintained and two clean long drop toilet are on offer (bring your own toilet paper.)
There is nothing quite like a campfire and fires are allowed outside of the fire-ban season. Fire-pits are available from the shed very close to the campsites. Perfect for roasting marshmallows and keeping warm on cool evenings. Bring your own firewood or you can buy bags of firewood from the property owner. Collecting firewood within the property is not permitted. During the fire-ban period gas heaters can be hired at a reasonable daily rate.
There is no garbage disposal facilities. So make sure to take back everything you brought along.
Unfortunately no pets are allowed. Being a Sheep farm this is quite understandable.
The real magic of Pembroke lies in the surrounding nature. Hiking enthusiasts will love the trail that wind through the nearby hills, offering stunning views at every turn. You can take a leisurely walk by the river or challenge yourself with a more strenuous hike up the hills.
If you would like to explore the region, there are a number of local attractions. It is under 45 minutes drive to the Lavender Federation track and only 30 minutes to the Monarto Conservation safari park.
Pembroke is a hidden gem that is just waiting to be discovered. It offers the perfect combination of peaceful surroundings and outdoor adventure, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, or solo travelers. You can experience the beauty of the Australian countryside without sacrificing the convenience of being close to the city. You might even get to meet some of the fluffy residents up close!
So, if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or passing through from interstate and looking for a place to camp, head to Pembroke by the Bremer River. You won't regret it.
