This 11-day journey is crafted to showcase four very different sides of South Africa in one seamless trip: Johannesburg’s powerful urban history, the dramatic landscapes of the Panorama Route, a luxury safari in Southern Kruger, and the ocean-meets-mountain beauty of Cape Town.

You begin in Johannesburg, based at DAVINCI Hotel & Suites on Nelson Mandela Square, with a full-day Journey to Freedom tour through Soweto and the Apartheid Museum. From there, you travel to the Lowveld and stay at Hippo Hollow Country Estate, your base for a full-day Panorama Route tour, including legendary viewpoints and waterfalls. Your safari unfolds at Kruger Shalati – the “Train on the Bridge” – where you sleep above the Sabie River inside Kruger National Park, before ending with four nights at the Commodore Hotel at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, exploring the city, Table Mountain, the Peninsula and Franschhoek Wine Tram.

Pricing

Price is per person sharing for the full 11-day / 10-night itinerary as outlined. Internal flight costs are not included, as airfares can fluctuate. Approximate airfares at the time of quoting: Johannesburg – Mpumalanga Kruger from US$ 80.00 per person; Mpumalanga Kruger – Cape Town from US$ 240.00 per person.

Inclusions

• All accommodation as per the itinerary:
  • DAVINCI Hotel & Suites, Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg – 2 nights on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
  • Hippo Hollow Country Estate, Hazyview – 2 nights on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis.
  • Kruger Shalati, Southern Kruger – 2 nights on a Full Board Plus basis (dinner, bed, breakfast, lunch and activities; teas & coffees included).
  • Commodore Hotel, Cape Town – 4 nights on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
• All meals as specified above for each property in the itinerary.
• All listed tours and activities as per the itinerary, including:
  • Full-day Journey to Freedom tour in Johannesburg (Soweto, Hector Pieterson Museum, Mandela House, Regina Mundi Church, Apartheid Museum and related sites).
  • Full-day Panorama Route tour from Hazyview, including highlights such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels View Point, Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Mac Mac Falls and Pilgrim’s Rest.
  • All scheduled safari activities at Kruger Shalati (2 game drives per day plus an optional post-breakfast bush walk, weather permitting).
  • Cape Town half-day city tour, including Table Mountain cableway station visit (cable car ticket at own cost) and key city highlights.
  • Full-day Cape Peninsula tour including Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope and scenic coastal driving via the False Bay and Atlantic seaboards.
  • Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on, hop-off experience (tram ticket included; tastings at own cost unless specified by package).
• All road transfers as indicated in the itinerary:
  • Meet & greet and private transfer from OR Tambo International Airport to DAVINCI Hotel & Suites.
  • Transfers between DAVINCI and OR Tambo for flights.
  • Private transfer from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Hippo Hollow Country Estate and return transfers as specified.
  • Transfer from Hippo Hollow to Kruger Shalati and return from Kruger Shalati to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
  • Private transfers between Cape Town International Airport and Commodore Hotel (arrival and departure).

• Comprehensive travel insurance (compulsory and strongly recommended).
• Any meals, drinks and activities not specifically mentioned as included in the itinerary.
• Premium brand alcoholic beverages and additional bar charges at lodges and hotels.
• Optional extra activities not listed as included (e.g. additional touring, adventure activities, extra museum visits, etc.).
• Gratuities for guides, drivers, lodge and hotel staff.
• All personal expenses such as laundry (where not included), telephone calls, spa treatments, curios and items of a personal nature.
